What you get when the work is done slowly.
Firms that work with Mythara Advisory leave with writing that reflects them — not writing that could describe almost anyone doing roughly similar things.
Back to HomeSix things that distinguish this practice.
Deep industry familiarity
We know what professional services firms in Malaysia look like from the inside — how they decide, how they communicate, and where the writing typically falls short.
A pace that produces better work
Spacing sessions across fortnights rather than days means ideas can settle, perspectives can shift, and the final note reflects considered thinking rather than the first clear answer.
Writing as the deliverable
We do not produce decks, frameworks, or strategy documents. The deliverable is a written note — short, precise, and readable by anyone in the firm without further explanation.
Transparent, fixed pricing
Three engagements, three prices, set before any work begins. There are no variable fees, no scope that expands quietly, and no invoices that arrive with numbers you did not expect.
A relationship, not a transaction
The Positioning Practice includes a six-month follow-up review as standard. We want to know whether the note has held up and what, if anything, warrants revisiting.
Counsel, not just production
We offer perspective as well as writing. If we believe a firm's instinct about its positioning is unclear or counterproductive, we will say so — politely and with reasons.
Each benefit, looked at more carefully.
Professional expertise in positioning work
Positioning for professional services firms is a specific discipline. It requires familiarity with how these firms operate — the partnership structures, the client relationship norms, the reputational sensitivities — and that familiarity only comes from sustained exposure to the sector.
- Six years focused exclusively on professional services in Malaysia
- Direct experience advising law, accounting, and specialist consulting firms
- Understanding of sector-specific communication norms and client expectations
"A firm that knows what it is and what it is not is considerably easier for a client to trust — and to refer."
— From our internal positioning notes
- 01.Initial reading of existing materials and a brief intake note
- 02.First session: listening, questions, early observations shared
- 03.Fortnight interval: reflection and internal review
- 04.Second session: draft positioning note reviewed together
- 05.Third session: final refinements and delivery of written documents
A structured process, done at pace
Each engagement follows a consistent structure designed to move the work forward without rushing the thinking. The session intervals are not administrative — they serve a purpose. Ideas that seem clear in a room often look different a week later.
Considered, attentive client engagement
We work with a small number of firms at any one time. That is a deliberate constraint. It means that when we are working with your firm, we are genuinely attentive — not dividing our attention across a large portfolio.
- Two working day response to all enquiries and questions
- Named senior advisor for every engagement
- Internal second review of all written deliverables before dispatch

- Positioning Practice: Two-page note, one-page reference card, six-month review — RM 3,050

- A Single Sketch: ~1,200 words, three alternative drafts, follow-up call — RM 880
Pricing set before work begins
Every engagement has a fixed fee, communicated before any commitment is made. There are no variable charges, no billing by the hour, and no expenses added after the fact. The price you see is the price you pay.
How this practice differs from typical alternatives.
Typical positioning consultancy
- Large strategy decks rarely read after the engagement ends
- Generic frameworks applied regardless of firm type
- Variable billing that grows through scope additions
- Junior team members doing much of the day-to-day work
- No structured follow-up after delivery
- Compressed timelines that rush the thinking
Mythara Advisory
- Short written notes designed for ongoing reference
- Work produced specifically for your firm, from scratch
- Fixed fees agreed before any work begins
- Senior advisors present in every session
- Six-month follow-up review included in Positioning Practice
- Fortnightly sessions spaced to allow proper reflection
Features not commonly found elsewhere.
The six-month review
The Positioning Practice includes a structured review conversation at six months, included in the engagement fee. We return to the written note, discuss what has shifted, and confirm whether any adjustment is needed. This is not standard in the market.
Three alternative drafts
The Single Sketch engagement produces three distinct alternative drafts for the passage in question — not one draft with minor variations. Each takes a meaningfully different approach to the framing, giving you a genuine choice.
Session-based methodology
We work in sessions rather than intensive workshops. Fortnightly spacing is deliberate and serves the quality of the output. Firms that have done positioning work in compressed timelines often find they need to revisit it within a year.
A willingness to disagree
We will tell a client when we believe their initial positioning instinct is unclear or unlikely to serve them. That honest perspective is part of what the engagement fee covers — not simply the production of what was already decided before we arrived.
